In 1950 at the age of 20, Nathaniel Howard accepted the Lord Jesus as his Savior.  He became a licensed minister four years later, and he was ordained an Elder in 1963.  He followed God's calling in 1968 to take over the Second Street C.O.G.I.C. in Bay City, Michigan.  After much prayer,
Pastor Nathaniel Howard renamed the church Holy Mission Ministries, C.O.G.I.C.

At this time, the church was located on the corner of Second and VanBuren Street.  When the Bay City Urban Renewal purchased the church property, Pastor Howard moved the church to Saginaw.  Holy Mission moved into its current location at 1214 N. Michigan Ave. in 1981.

Pastor Nathaniel Howard’s first wife, Catherine, passed away shortly after the birth of their sixth child.  He later married Wealthy Shields and they had four children together. Pastor Howard retired from the pastorate in 2000.  He later passed away in 2007.

Holy Mission Ministries, C.O.G.I.C. was founded in 1968 by the late Rev. Nathaniel Howard along with his wife Wealthy Howard.
